After returning to Poland after two years in France, I need to find a job. I get hired as an exhibition guard at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle (where I had shown my own work in the past).
The work explores the thin line between work, artistic work, and work as an artwork, reflecting also on the fragility of the status of an “succesful” artist.
I blur the boundaries between myself as an artist, as an employee, and as part of the exhibition. By choosing the Assaf Gruber’s exhibition, with its nested structure and dark humor close to my heart, I deliberately appropriate it as an element of my own practice.
